Zuzana conceives Charles Bridge through the eyes of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec: instead of ancient seriousness comes swing, abbreviation and poster stylization. The bridge emerges from colored surfaces – sharp lines, flat colors and strong contrasts are reminiscent of famous lithographs from Parisian cabarets. The figures on the bridge are as if they came from a Moulin Rouge poster. The Vltava River and the sky above Hradčany appear more like a graphic motif than a realistic landscape – rhythm and gesture take precedence over perspective.
