Prague Infant Jesus

In Gustav Klimt’s Golden Light

Imagine the Infant Jesus of Prague, but not in the traditional altar concept – but as Gustav Klimt would have placed it in his golden, ornamental world. Here, Zuzana combines an iconic statuette with the visual language of the Viennese Art Nouveau: the body of the Infant Jesus emerges from a mosaic background, dressed in a richly decorated robe, where geometric shapes, stylized lilies and spirals reminiscent of Klimt’s famous portraits alternate. Gold and bronze tones transition into subtle color accents, so that the painting appears both sacred and dreamlike.
